New Delhi: Gensol Engineering Limited, a key player in India’s renewable energy sector, has secured a ₹780 crore turnkey EPC contract for the development of a 150 MWac ground-mounted solar PV power plant in Maharashtra. The project, awarded by a major public sector utility, is set to be executed over a 15-month period, positioning Gensol to take on the full lifecycle of the solar plant’s development.This comprehensive contract includes responsibilities from land acquisition to the final commissioning of the plant. Gensol’s scope of work encompasses design, engineering, procurement, logistics, and the intricate stages of manufacturing and supply. Additionally, the company will handle the erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of the grid-connected solar plant, along with the development of associated power evacuation infrastructure linked to the State Transmission Utility (STU) substation. The contract also includes three years of operations and maintenance (O&M) services, covering the plant’s switchyard and extensive transmission infrastructure.

The project aligns with the ministry of new and renewable energy’s (MNRE) policy introduced in April 2022, aimed at bolstering Maharashtra’s energy infrastructure while contributing to India’s larger sustainable energy goals.
